Bathgate Swimming Pool

This exciting new swimming pool complex comprises an extensive leisure facility to replace a dated centre for the community of Bathgate in Scotland. The design includes an expanse of glazed curtain walling to maximize daylight penetration into the swimming area creating a very spacious and open feel to the pool area.   When the building is unoccupied, the glazing is effectively protected by the Charter-Integr8 180C Security Shutter System, which descend in a controlled manner from within the eaves. 

Charter offered expert advice and design solutions for the architect from pre-planning stage, right through to final installation, interfacing with glulam beams, eaves cladding and the curtain walling system. “Attention to detail was paramount” exclaims the Sales Manager for Charter “the installation and final alignment were critical to ensure a uniform ascent and descent of the security shutters.”

The shutters incorporate a heavy duty Vissio20 profile spanning 6000mm, allowing vision through the shutter when in the lowered position.
