Wooburn Green Sports Pavilion

Case Study

Replacing the aging cricket pavilion at Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire with a purpose-built pavilion provided Wycombe District Council with the opportunity to incorporate measures to reduce the effect of anti-social behaviour.

The pavilion, which is home to Wooburn Narkovians cricket club, is in the lovely setting of Wooburn Park, tree-fringed and flanked by hills and the River Wye which skirts the public park on two sides. The original pavilion had been the target of anti social behaviour on occasions, so it was imperative the new building be better protected.

For both the Council and architect it was essential to carefully balance the need to secure the premises, yet create a welcoming building for the local community. This was achieved using Integr8 180LS Lintel Security Shutters. An innovative design, the security shutter system is incorporated within a structural lintel and cavity closer, securing the Pavilion's doors and windows out of hours, whilst maintaining the simple design lines and welcoming aesthetics.
